I produced my first event in Richmond, Virginia when I was 28 years old. I am now 78, so I’ve been a show producer for 50 years. I think that’s long enough. The 2023 National Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show will be my final event. I have sold Sunbelt Shows, Inc. to my long-time editor, Mark Masker, who will co-produce the 2023 show with Emily and me. After that, Mark will produce the Fiery Foods Show and the Scovie Awards. Please note that Emily had the first shot at taking over the show and contest but decided to pursue other career opportunities. I am not retiring from writing, so there will be more books from me. I intend to do a lot more of what you see in the image above, too!
