This past weekend I was the guest author of the Carnegie Free Library and sold various books of mine at Tucson’s Festival of the Books, the third-largest book festival in the U.S., which was held on the mall on the University of Arizona campus. The fest featured more than 300 presentations, 350 authors, and 200 exhibitors. There were book signings, panel discussions, food vendors, children’s and Science City programming, and dozens of free activities for all ages on the University of Arizona Mall. Here are some photos of the event including the one above showing the immensity of the event.
- Producers predicted crowds of 130,000 book lovers. I think that’s an exaggeration, but the crowd was large.
- Here I am peddling my books and chile poster.
- Cookbook authors demonstrated their cooking talents and gave tastings.
- Many publishers and booksellers were in evidence.
- Of course, there were hot and spicy food products there.
- The medical marijuana scene was well-represented.
- CSpan broadcasted at least 10 author events.
