Dott writes in the dust cover blurb that he explores how chiles in China went from obscurity to ubiquity. If that is true, why is he stuck in the past and ignoring the current horticulture of a country that supposedly grows sixteen million tons of fresh chiles a year?
2018 End of the Year Report
As far as reading goes, 2018 was a great year for natural history books, and my two favorites were The Eye of the Shoal by Helen Scales and The Revolutionary Genius of Plants, by Stefano Mancuso.
